How this works

PlainKit is a set of everyday tools that do their work on your device. Here is what that means, and how you can check it yourself.

There is no server

This is a static site. It is a folder of HTML, CSS and JavaScript files served straight to your browser. There is no application server, no database and no user accounts, so there is nowhere for your input to be stored even if we wanted to.

The browser blocks it, not us

Every page sends a Content-Security-Policy rule called connect-src 'none'. That tells the browser to refuse any network connection the page tries to make. So "nothing leaves your device" is not a promise you have to take on faith — it is enforced by the browser.

To verify it, open any tool and run this in your browser console while you use it:

performance.getEntriesByType('resource').filter((r) => !r.name.startsWith(location.origin))

The result is an empty list. There is nothing to call out to.

No ads, no tracking, no accounts

There are no advertising slots, no analytics, no cookies, no session recording and no third-party scripts of any kind. Every tool is open the moment the page loads, because there is nothing to sign up for.

Host it yourself

PlainKit is open source under Apache-2.0. The build produces a plain folder of static files, so you can serve it from anywhere. If you prefer a container, the repository ships a Dockerfile and a compose file:

docker compose up

The site then runs at http://localhost:8080. Without Docker, runnpm install and npm run build, then serve the dist folder.
